Hollywood actor Brad Pitt just spent 40 million USD (about 935 billion VND) to buy an ancient house built of stone on a cliff in Carmel, California, USA.

Brad Pitt is passionate about architecture and craft-style houses, so he decided to spend a large amount of money to buy this ancient mansion.

According to DailyMail, the property called DL James House was sold to Brad Pitt for 40 million USD (about 935 billion VND). There is an old house built in 1918 designed by famous architect Charles Sumner Greene.

The villa is located on a cliff, with breathtaking views of the sea. The villa was built from locally quarried sandstone and granite. The arched windows are built with stones carefully selected by the architect and the roof is tiled in a Mediterranean style.

It is known that the house has been vacant for many years. The first owner of the mansion was novelist Daniel Lewis James – who wrote the book Famous All Over Town. 

Local people are happy to know that the new owner of this house is famous star Brad Pitt. The Hollywood actor already has a villa worth 5 million USD (116 billion VND) nearby, which he bought in the early 2000s when he was still living with actress Jennifer Aniston.

Currently, Brad Pitt lives mainly in the villa he has lived in for many years located in Los Angeles, USA. The six children of the actor and his ex-wife, actress Angelina Jolie, live in a villa worth 25 million USD (584 billion VND) nearby.

Brad Pitt was voted one of the most attractive men in the world. He is also one of the world’s top movie stars , having received three Oscar nominations and won an Oscar and a Golden Globe. Successful in his career, Brad Pitt also owns a huge fortune.

He has gone through two noisy marriages and is currently single. In particular, the divorce between him and actress Angelina Jolie has consumed media coverage since 2016 until now.

According to Page Six, in a recent trial held in Los Angeles, USA, the judge announced that Brad Pitt lost his lawsuit against Angelina Jolie. The couple disputed over a common property when they were still married.

Brad Pitt sued Angelina Jolie in February 2022 when he claimed that Angelina Jolie arbitrarily sold shares of the Chateau Miraval estate and winery in France. The property was rented by the star couple in 2008 and completely bought back in 2011. This is also where the Jolie-Pitt couple held a secret wedding in 2014.

According to the court’s ruling, the Bullet Train actor could not provide evidence that Angelina Jolie arbitrarily sold the wine estate owned by both of them. He also could not prove that this hindered his  business .

Angelina Jolie’s representative said that Brad Pitt already had a grudge against his wife, so he thought that Jolie’s sale of shares to businessman Yuri Shefler caused damage to him.

In addition, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are also in the process of disputing custody of their children after filing for divorce in 2016, citing many irreconcilable differences.

Currently, Brad Pitt is temporarily losing to his ex-wife in this battle as Angelina Jolie has full rights to the children while the Hollywood actor only has visitation rights. The couple got married in 2014 and divorced two years later.
